Israeli Airstrikes Kill Dozens in Gaza

At Least 35 Palestinians Dead, Dozens Injured

Aftermath of Bombing of Displacement Camp Leaves Survivors Assessing Damage

At least 35 people were killed and dozens more injured in Israeli airstrikes on a camp for displaced people in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah. The strikes, which began on Wednesday night, targeted the Al-Amal camp, which is home to thousands of Palestinians who were displaced during the 2014 Gaza war.

After sunrise on Thursday, survivors of the bombing returned to the camp to assess the damage. The camp was heavily damaged, with many buildings destroyed or damaged. The injured were taken to local hospitals, where they are being treated for their injuries.

The Israeli military said that the airstrikes were in response to rocket fire from Gaza into Israel. However, the Palestinian Health Ministry said that the majority of the victims of the airstrikes were civilians.

The United Nations has condemned the airstrikes and called for an immediate ceasefire. The UN human rights chief has warned Israel not to launch a full military operation in Gaza.
