The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 116-107 in Game 3 of their Western Conference semifinal series on Tuesday night to take a commanding 3-0 lead. Despite trailing by as many as 12 points, the Timberwolves managed to stay competitive thanks to a strong performance from Anthony Edwards in the third quarter. However, the Mavs' duo of Luka Dončić and Kyrie Irving proved too much for Minnesota, combining for 63 points on the night.
Edwards scored 15 points in the third quarter, helping the Timberwolves cut the Mavericks' lead to just 87-87 heading into the fourth. However, the Mavs regained control of the game in the final quarter, outscoring Minnesota 29-20 to secure the victory. Dončić led the Mavericks with 33 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists, while Irving added 30 points. Karl-Anthony Towns led the Timberwolves with 26 points and 12 rebounds, while Edwards finished with 23 points.
The Timberwolves will now face elimination in Game 4 on Thursday night in Dallas. The Mavericks, meanwhile, will look to close out the series and advance to the Western Conference Finals.
